Contractors getting a quote
Were thinking box frame square mesh then galvanised
Still needs the top crank ?
I've seen some that were sheet galvanised tin so no crank
Were planning a 300 wide concrete strip at bottom .

I guess if you rivet some tin sheet to the gate that would stop them climbing. If I was erecting for a client I would err on the side of caution and fit cranks and net to be sure there was no weak spots.

Put some pictures up of the finished job, sad cases like me enjoy looking at tidy fencing

its a very technical / controversial subject :(
as a simple example if a otter, took a 20 ld carp worth £1000 - £1500 to replace , it would eat about 8 oz to 1 ld of meat , around the gill area as correctly stated .it will then get bored and go get another .
so if that's going on all winter its a serious problem
they are about the most protected thing there is
they are cute and furry
the large populations we have now have been breed in captivity in 'otter sanctuaries ' then released into nice looking places , generally close to a commercial fishery .
they are yet to find my fishery so that's why I'm gonna protect it before, which is the advice of the E A
the commercial course fishery business is worth millions a year , it is now under serious threat .
simple question why did they hunt them with otter hounds ' back in the day '
google otter predation , otter kills etc
there are no grants to fence
have a look at otter stops website

i'll photo what's already done if the weather improves captain , got three sides done in the spring , 600 meter , prepping the last 200 ish now then I should be safe.

Who said that it was over 20 year old
20 pound plus in weight

Try and buy a legitimate one for less
There value will be increasing because they will be getting harder to come by.

Those prices are competitive
I've only ever bought fish of one guy because I trust him he asks more .
It's the threat of importing disease. ...........

Sorry are you asking me if my fishery is open to the public ?
It is , it is not members only.

got some entrance gates fitted now
original plan was to concrete the still under the gate when closed , needs to be close fitting 20- 30 mm clearance so nowt can crawl under .
a mates suggested using a steel across , prob a I section , flat on top , set level with road , main entrance so has to take any traffic ..

150 x 100 steel ? or much heavier concreted in and three 900 ish strip welded underneath in direction of travel to stop it rocking
is cost gonna be similar to 2 ish cube of concrete ??
3 gates to do .
dose this make sence or am I talking nonsense
gates 2 15 ft one 12

I don't know about for fun, but they don't eat much of the fish, mainly around the Gill area.
And they won't return to the kill the next night, they'll go catch another instead.

What an intelligent idea it was to go captive breeding and releasing otters, at a time when their naturally favoured dinner- eels, have had a serious population crash. The thick b******s:mad:.

Found one otter at the bottom of my garden feasting on a 3/4 grown Swan, he was unphased by me so probably a release. He ate a little bit of the breast and then skipped off. Strangely we rarely see swans now.
