Was the drop off point for the lorry load of round bale hay his other farm? Similar skid steer to home farm and no other farmer to be seen.
yes, thats where i thought it was....no other farmer in sight cos he would be running for cover when he saw the camera van coming!

Not be many didn’t make fit hay this year even I got it right and I’m crap at making hay (no patience)
Loving the show though, she put that swale in the back of the pickup with ease.
i didnt make any so cant really talk! Great programme though, all credit to them for being brave enough to show farming how it really is in this crazy world of rules ad regs and political corectness!

It worried me that they didn't even have a bale sledge, let alone an accumulator and grab. Then maybe an elevator to get the bales up to the loft? Not massively expensive items and surely available from any decent dealer if no farm sales close by. Do people really carry small bales to the trailer rather than driving up to them to load?

It did cross my mind that the quaintness of it all could be contrived for the cameras but then I'm just a cynical old bachelor who looked at the statistics years ago and estimated the odds of getting landed with a nagging old bitch, half dozen whining kids, and a very large mortgage just wasn't worth the risk! They're not all like that, ya know!:D

I can’t help feeling the dairy guys with robot milkers, high tech equipment and half million pound sheds and the arable guys using auto steer and quarter of a million pound combines must be looking at us hill guys with great amusement.

Most where round baled I think they just did a few small squares the field they were in doing the small squares looked about 2 acre at most , they may have all the other gear when doing larger bits .

It did look a bit staged for cameras . Would they really use a rake like that haymaking.
She always looks a bit dressed up with lippy and bangles and a skirt .Maybe the rest of the time she wears a boiler suit !
Good program though if a bit idyllic .

Like others have said I know a lot of us take chances with health and safety but if anything ever does go badly wrong on that farm having all the evidence of their complete disregard for safety being broadcast to the nation on a weekly basis will come home to bite.

I think they will probably be just staging it a bit for the cameras, when the cameras arent there they will prob just ride one person per quad, wear helmets, not stand on the trailer drawbar etc etc
