Out of sync cattle tags

Hello there, just found four cattle tags from the end of calving about 3 years ago, didn’t realise at the time so just ordered another load to start the following calving. Any problems with using them now seeing as they are about 50 numbers back from where we are currently? Or just leave them in the cupboard and carry on as we are ? Cheers

No problem with using them. Fire on. Just watch out when you are registering the calves that you get the number right.

Don’t put them in heifer calves or you spend next 10 years cussing this thread!

If you'll have plenty without them, it might be easier to leave them be. IF EID goes ahead next year then any tags left will be obsolete anyway.

I start each year on a 100 number so last year's replacements started at 1800 and this year's start at 2200. I didn't tag 400 calves last year but I have used up the remaining 2100s on beef calves to sell.
