I stand corrected! I apologise to anyone that took my comments as gospel, I had not checked the legislation.
I will need to check that Nursery application because I'm sure the enforcement officer said it was ok for 28 days inside the building but we had to apply for the pergola outside.

Interesting about the nursery application. Keep us posted!

Interestingly, B1(b) prohibits use as a caravan site (under the 28 day rule), which takes me back to my original thought about caravans. There is a size spec isn't there? A caravan definition is something like max 12m long, 6m wide etc etc. So if a mobile structure is for example bigger than allowed under caravan specifications, then it certainly isn't a caravan. Those are the rules, and very specifically documented. What's it called, the Caravan Act I think?

So this theoretical structure should be allowed under the 28 day permitted development rules? Just as camping is allowed (as tents and trailer tents are not caravans, even though people are staying the night in them).

First time I’ve seen you drop a bollock 😂😂

To the OP I’d be careful. The general public are getting more and more detached from reality.

Your pristine area will get trashed, especially if the weather turns.

You may end up being a busy fool getting no sleep and getting more and more angry!

I hosted my cousins wedding a few years ago. It was brilliant, everyone had a great time and got me thinking about doing it more often.

But the best site for the marquee was my best silage field which I only put bagged fert on rather than slurry everywhere else so my silage from this field was more expensive.

Even though everyone was very well behaved it still took a couple days to tidy up - who knew bottle caps could travel so far?!

If any of her demands were too much I straight up told her. If that was a paying customer I doubt I could have been so straight and honest as its "their big day!".

All in all I'm happier without the potential hassle from having a load of people turn up for a massive jolly right in the middle of my farm.

If I had an off shed with a small paddock around it then maybe but you're still dealing with people who are expecting perfection even if they're prepared to pay for it.

Weddings. Believe me, you want as little involvement as possible. You will need a license to allow weddings to take place on the premises.

I would give them a half day the day before to allow set up. They will also need some of the following morning to retrieve flowers, cake, drunken bridesmaid etc etc.

Tell them that if the weather is bad on the day or something goes wrong they are welcome to come back another time for wedding photos (normally just bride and groom and photographer anyway) for an hour or two FOC.

If you start offering extras like loo hire or catering etc you better be able to deliver 100% every time with no disasters because believe me, weddings always have something go wrong somewhere.

Don't underestimate the amount of noise/mess and litter that party guests might generate.

Stipulate right from the start, things like no fireworks, no Chinese lanterns, no glasses (make them use plastic). You will have to provide bins.
