Ovalled wheel rim holes - how would you deal with them?

Later 4000 had 8 stud wheels, but any 8 stud with the big holes should match inc iirc Same.
Mf , IH and David Brown had the same pattern/pcd but a smaller hole.
lightbulb moment - i'll measure the back wheels on the IH 685 and the 344 and compare. There must be an actual sizing specification for it somewhere. TBH if i can find a replacement centre that matches the other side or a cheap pair of factory leyland rims that would be the best option. The rim is really a weird looking thing - i will get a better picture and post it - and maybe someone will be able to identify what its off.

I think it's possibly off the front of a Muir Hill. Some of them had an odd shaped centre piece in the dish as the front axle is wider than the rear and the deep centre allowed the rim to be alligned with the back.

I would guess that you could find some centres fairly easy, easier than rims guaranteed. Sure I have a couple 28, 36 and 38 centres here from DBs and IHs due to rotten rims but kept the dishes

I don't think the 38s will fit under the mudguards. Possibly fit on an Explorer cabbed Leyland but not on a blue one. The stud holes are too small on IH rims. I think...

Now here's a thing. Just read a post from 3 years ago that says MF 500 series rims will fit straight on ok to a Leyland but the nuts are different. 500 series rims will be the same fit as 100 series. I tried MF 50 B rims(same fit as 100 series) on my 3CX which is the same as Leyland. They would not go on as the stud holes were too small and IIRC so too was the centre hole... How come?

A 135 centre is way different to a 590 is it not?

You dont need to taper them
If the wheel centres don't have a tapered stud hole - then the centres will just fret away at the wheel studs will they not? The wheel nuts would only be contacting the centre on the very edge of the taper instead of right in to a tapered seat? I'm possibly just being stupid and not understanding what you mean by not needing centres that have tapered seats to match the taper on the wheel nuts.
