Overum ploughs

I don't think they offer flush points with the XL mouldboards, or not that I've noticed. They did offer them with the Fiskars type bodies though. Not that I'd want those.
Come to think of it, some of the Overums that were sold as MF ploughs had the option but I'm not sure whether it was in conjunction with XL mouldboards or something else. They may have even fitted Fiskars mouldboard design on them but something tells me they were XL with a different share and possibly frog for flush points. Just can't remember in that much detail. It's a long time since I thought of such things.
I've heard great things about XL boards but I've never seen them ploughing. Can't even think of any Overums in this part of the world.

I run a Overum 6 furrow DX,which is the shear bolt model, sorry can not help with the plastic mold board job,but I get on very well with XL body on my fluffy/sticky heathland soils.
Yes I have had a couple of issues with the plough,

This is the ram which pushes the plough over too the side when it turns over,so the depth wheel doesn't hit the ground.
The ram has been modified now by a local engineering company, they replaced the ends of the ram with a different type of fitting, and made me a couple of specific bolts so the threads clear the heavy duty ball joint.so its a tighter fit.
The depth wheel is a bit of a black art to set up with its slip clutches, but works well when set up correctly.
Do not get any form of lubricant in this area, even by mistake it can be a pita!
I would definitely buy another even with the issues I've had.
I only use genuine parts here they wear extremely well and fit perfectly.
It makes a super level job,had no problems with trash /skimmers being buried and its great for leveling the last in field furrow out,I made a packer stopper which slips over the rear depth wheel stopper so it feathers the plough out so ,it leaves it completely level.

Yes I've had various different makes of plough here over the years, they all have their problems but the Overum is a joy to use,it gets a lot of stick on my limestone ground.

So next question. Is it the local nh dealer that sells overum now? Any1 know who sells them in ni
Kennedy's would be your nearest I'd think, but it'll likely be a red Kongskilde. After the mergers some of the Overum dealers lost or gave up the franchise and others have gained machines from the Kongskilde range.

Is a kongskilde and overum the exact same plough or are they different?

I've owned an Overum dx for a few years now, bought second hand. Hydraulic reset. Was just thinking as I was doing a little bit of ploughing for W barley that it would fairly ruin your plans if the accumulator failed.

Has anyone had one fail? If so, can it be fixed, or is it a replacement, and how much? Has anyone pre-empted a failure?
