Overum XL bodies and 650s

This question may have been asked before but will an Overum plough with XL bodies ploughing at 16 inch cope with 650-65-38 tyres. The plough does a good job with 600s but was wondering whether it would be ok with 650s. If 650s aren't acceptable what other sizes would be acceptable.

Can go with 710s just runs out abit on previous furrow so 650s would fit. Unless you are trying for match ploughing otherwise crack on

Will the XL mouldboard plough at 5” deep with 650 tyres on? We only have 5” of soil here and struggle to plough it unless we use the small tractor but then it won’t plough you hills.

I plough at about 6" deep at 16" furrow width and sometimes shallower if the plough rides over shale. No problem. Tends not to be as tidy a job at 5" or less of course. It also depends on the state of the shares and points. If the points are new and the shares worn and the new long points can't get down further than five inches, the share tends to cut a couple of inches shallower.

They don’t seem to be as expensive as the kv Plough’s? Any reasons for that or is it just the kv has the name for the plough to have even though it might not be any better than the rest? We just want a cheap plough which will go to work straight away as it will only plough 100 acre a year for us at the most. Vari width isn’t a must have as will be set at 16/17’ and left at that I think.

No particular reason for them being cheaper other than competition. They are now part of Kongskilde which itself is wholly owned by CNH Industrial which is ultimately controlled by the Agnelli family who are Fiat.

5f plough to be able to plough shallow on 650 tyres. Secondhand but a cheap plough. Not fussed on age as long as it’s straight and good for a few year.
