I went a few years ago. It was three of the best days I’ve ever had. My only advice is to get involved as much as possible and don’t turn in too early as plenty of interesting conversations are had at the bar!

I spoke from the floor in the debate in the famous Oxford Union- probably one of the most nerve wracking yet exhilarating experiences I’ve ever had!

Pardon my ignorance
What's EL?

I know the Pasture Fed Livestock Association always push for folks to go but personally it would cost a lot and reduce a lot of my annual leave

Went last year and absolutely loved it- I wasn’t expecting it to be my kind of thing but I was wrong.

Some of the most interesting talks I’ve ever heard. The delegate list is full of people worth having a chat with and the BASF EL course was brilliant.

I’m even paying out of my own pocket this year to go!

I’ll come and say hi @Clive and I expect I’ll bump into you at the same bar as last year @willy

Did the ORFC for a number of years but find it's just more of the same now ?
Would love to do the OFC sometime but can never quite justify the price

Both will be great I'm sure ---have fun

Yes look forward to it, I’m sure it’s your round!

The political aspect especially of both shadow and current and also Green Party is what I really want to see how they come across and what potentially lies in store.

How much does it cost to attend?
A lot. The trick is to get an organisation to sponsor you on a scholarship of some kind. I would think a very large % of folk there are sponsored by county ag societies, shows, employers or other benefactors.

I have also been to a fringe meeting of the ‘Real’ farming conference as I was asked to speak to a group of younger farmers. They were all very nice but seemed to live in a parallel universe where milking 3 cows was seen as a path to prosperity.

All in all approx £450 including most events and dinners and accommodation. But if day you do it every 3 years it’s good value and well worth it.
