Just been announced that they are sacking all of their employees and hiring in foreign agency staff.
Suggestion is that they are able to do so under maritime law?

I'd set fire to the boat. Only way they'd get me off if I were in the current staffs position. I certainly wouldn't want to board a P and O ferry that's maned by "cheap" foreign labour. Look at that ferry disaster in Italy the captain was actually Italian!

Another example of fudge you capitalism. Nothing but corporate greed. Fudge off 800 workers and replace with cheap. Absolute disgrace.
Maybe but their losses through lockdowns and restricted travel hurt them and all cross channel operatives very badly indeed. there is still lots of fright coming across the lake so it isn't dead. Whether the summer traffic this year will be back to usual levels remains to be seen. Interest rate rise again today will start to bite people in the pocket

My heart bleeds. Company that owns P and O made over 1 billion in profit from only 6 billion of turnover. Then shells out 270 million in dividends not months after asking the UK government for 150m in covid support.

It's fudge you capitalism.
