My grandad devoted most of his life to studying (not protecting) wildlife in the New Forest and came across Chris Packam a few times. When he was in his late 80's I remember him describing Packam as an arrogant pr*ck.

my wife studied bees years ago and they did a bit for him regarding wild flower meadows. There were no bees in the planted meadow but loads flying back and forth from adjacent OSR. So he filmed a bit to camera in the wild flowers, filmed a heap of bees flying over it and was presented as a great success on tv.
