Paint spraying

Sprayed 2 sets of rear wheels off my Marshalls in my makeshift spray booth. Just one problem I have done them in the wrong white. I was told they should be old English white which I was told is the same as David Brown Orchid white, but they look far to off white. I wish I had gone with my instinct and used New Holland white.

The last Nuffields were Old English white `latter shade` Do not know the Marshal shade but yes it is similar to New Holland white.

Well yes we probably should but I was tring to speed the job up, but I will have to go over them again anyway.
Please don't think I'm criticising, I'm only a novice , I can't get my head around painting the bolts, the wheels I'm painting now have paint on the bolts from new
Right or wrongly I took center out, painted them, then painted heads of bolts, put back together and now ready for a final coat

If I was really doing it right I would get the bolts replated but the wheels are going on working classics so the idea is just to get them looking presentable. In the right shade of white!

What paint did you use? That doesn't even look like Orchid White to me. I gave up with premixed paint from dealers, agricultural merchants etc because it was never the right shade. A specialist paint supplier will have better quality paint and it'll be the correct shade.

I like to remove the centres.
With the centres in- it's difficult to get enough paint on the edges of the centres, and when spraying final coat in the confined area- overspray from the centres will get on the rims and vice versa.

To me it looks like Old English White, not Orchid White. There is quite big difference between those two colours and Old English White is definitely wrong colour for Marshall wheels.

It said orchid white on the tin. I have got some New Holland white today which looks a better match. I will see tomorrow when I repaint them.
