Painting marine ply?

I’ve a few big slide doors clad in marine ply and they haven’t lasted long at all,can I paint new ply or will it react with the glue?

Only other idea is galv tin,anyone else suggest something long lasting?

Proper marine will last a very long time, but costs mega money.

I struggle with this too. What I thought I knew was marine ply is now called concrete formwork ply wood. It’s got a sort of phenolic coating and has the edges sealed, washable, stain proof etc.

Marine ply is now what I used to call wpb and won’t last five minutes in the wet.

I was sold it as marine ply,but you don’t know how good it is till it’s flaking and warping.:banghead::poop:

It's all shuttering ply around here which is waterproof as compressed paper even with several coats of yacht varnish. Haven't seen proper marine ply for years. Resin bonded ply (Rhino board) is better but several times the cost of shuttering ply and much heavier.
