painting sheds - advice

Thinking of painting sheds here, advice on airless sprayers, how easy is it? Quoted an extortionate amount by someone, so maybe have a go myself, advice please

A six inch brush and bedec barn paint might seem tedious, but you’d be surprised how much you can cover in a day. Years of satisfaction afterwards too.

Get some cheap paint rollers in several sizes including narrow ones for the awkward bits. Put the tray and roller in a bag when not in use to stop them drying out. Soon have the place pepped up.

An old farmer said to me "paint on a hayshed is like makeup on a woman, it makes them look a bit better but doesn’t make them last any longer!"

What sort of shed is it? I'm interested too. Is it wood i.e. yorkshire board or weatherboard?

We've used Sadolin Classic stain on weatherboard and that lasts well, easy to apply but it's expensive (and not a coating per se). Should look at bedec

Or is it steel? We overclad with new juniper green box profile rather than paint

bought it, I tried a couple of hire places and they didn't hire them out, I also bought a 6' extension to the gun to put the nozzle on, this allowed me to paint a lot from the ground and also do the French barn from the top

We had someone in to do three roundtops, two with lean-to, and a long shed with a pitched roof at a cost of £1750.. Really happy to pay someone to walk along the top of the round tops. Rusty bits were undercoated, minor holes blocked. He does it all the time and his spraying equipment would cost the neck end of £8k.
I painted the house front wall. I took 3 days with a brush. Bought a cheap sprayer from Screwfix and did the second coat in a day. Spraying is king.

I’ve used bedec barn paint in the past with good results. And easy to clean sprayer after. Anybody used the paintmaster water based barn paint (acrylic) it’s about £70 for 20l not £200 plus of bedec.
