At least x6 40/40 rapid exits gone in locally,I haven’t heard a bad word about them, herds from 250/450,personally I’m not a fan of a cow disappearing off a rotary not being milked out, with manual spraying you see every cow after they’ve been milked.

Correct I’ve never seen it done
A lot of people slag off Dairymaster but to be fair they have their faults but it does do what it says on the tin.
That rotary had two drive units on it and it drove on one unit
1800 cows three times a day

We are just about to (she says, having been told “3 weeks away” for at least the last 3 months) start milking through a 60pt rotary from a 27:54 herringbone (previously 22:44 but extended 5 years ago due to numbers). We milk 700 and milking is an absolute marathon not to mention the length of the pit being an absolute killer when you’ve walked up and down it a few hundred times. Should probably have gone for a larger rotary for our cow numbers, but the extra cost and the extra requirement for staff didn’t make for the most economical picture. Should make milking much more bearable and still only need the 3 (with extras as and when they can be bothered). We considered all sorts from almost everyone but none really added up speed/cost wise in comparison with the Pearson rotary.
How many cows do you guys need to make a decent living? Why not keep half as many and enjoy the job and life.

At least 400 at £800 profit per cow in an average year. That pays school fees, university tuition, at home care for the parents, enough staff so I can do what I want when I want and buys the farm.

Now out of my way I’m trying to take the over Cheshire.
