Parquet Flooring

We have just been given about 30 sq/m of used parquet flooring, possibly Maple wood. However it comes with the bitumen / grit based adhesive still attached....

Any suggestions of methods to remove most of the adhesive which appears to be as hard as rock and well attached.

Swan Vestas not an option, yet.

Run a test.
Clean a few and grab a few as they are. Lay them into bitumen and if they both work don't bother stripping them.

think the guy outbinbrook way that sells them all over the world has a shot/sand blast moving conveyor to clean them

I have some parquet flooring in my house. One tile came loose so I cleared any loose material from the hole and heated the bitumen backing with a hot air gun and stuck it back down. Its not moved since.

My mate did the whole ground floor of his house with ex-hospital flooring & cut the lot off with a table saw to remove a sliver of wood &all the bitumen.
As a bonus he also has a lifetime supply of firelighters

How thick was it? The only stuff that I've had any experience of is mine. My tiles are only a few mm thick.

The ex hospital stuff was the proper job - about an inch thick & the pieces were about 8"x 2-2 1/2" each
