Party Time?

Hmm, interesting view!

I will ponder that alongside your response, one should also never insinuate something that is not there.. Comments are being made that the country has just gone bazerk, whereby I was clearly reflecting upon past occasions that have been happening for all to see, which is evident that there has always been a large proportion whom never really locked down and thought wtf.

You see, many are so far down the path they have chosen, it is simply a form of regurgitation of the same old shite we endurerd about Brexit, BoJo etal, that it is simply perplexing that all the supposed experts saying how things should have been done, what is wrong witht eh country etc; have not actually stepped up and taken the bull by the horns and tried to make a change.

It appears to be simply easier to be an ambassador of spin behind the keyboard, which often follows a slating of anyone whom chose to view things differently to them as heratics...
It goes back much further than you suggest in your post, probably as much as 20 years if not more

Scottish medical bod said your best protection is your front door.
The Government can only "ask the people" for so long, should have told them from Day One and stuck with it until the R number was below 0.5.
All the stupid fudgees out at the weekend will probably be fine, their Aunt`s and Grannys who they met up with and hugged will probably die.
Death from Covid is, effectively, drowning whilst laying in a bed plumbed into lots of machines being turned over by a team of staff in full PPE.
There is no "fix", there is no "cure" there is just support to either get through it or leave this mortal coil.

I don't think people are doing that much

Exactly, and I have mentioned that previously. Unfortunately however, some simply wish to ignore those facts and continue to act in a bigoted manner, rather than open up an potentially accept they may not have the whole equation corect and coming up with a slanted outcome that is openly consuming them..

The Gvt will keep this situation going for as long as they can .....it's an easy ride for them . Most MPs not even bothering to go to London 'working from home '. Why would they do anything different ?

Interesting. This assumption is based on thinking most folk are lazy and want to do nothing. I actually think that most people (admittedly not all) actually want to do something with their day’s

Lockdown was the answer to some folks prayers that I know. Paid wages to sit about at home lie in bed every morning etc. Much better and easier to keep this charade going whilst it was cold and wet weather too. Now it’s more difficult for them to tow the line with the social side as there’s no pubs open so groups in the garden and party’s it is. Ironically these are the very same people who made such a fuss about keeping away from everyone and protecting their kids. There must be thousands the same

Most people do but I was merely talking about the MPs . Most of them have 'interests' outside of the House of Commons and not having to trek down to London all the time must be pure heaven for them .
I agree with @livestock 1 , there are a huge number who have taken delight in lockdown ,furlough etc but even they must be getting bored now. The big trouble is people will have fallen out of the 'habit ' of getting up and going to work and they will struggle to get going again .

I’ve worked away from home and commuted on a weekly basis. It’s horrid, and I wouldn’t blame anyone for not wanting to do it. It’s also not possible for those in the periphery right now, and with the technology we have in place they can work from home so they should - just like the government had told us.

Wagon driver in the other day. Saying where he was from the folk who used to go to the pub every night have been congregating in someones house.
Couple of nights ago that town was mentioned as having a very high infection rate.
No cure for stupid

So by the same moral code, Government MPs shouldn't have to go to London either then?

Agreed, and from the various video feeds from Westminster there’s not many that do. I think there are some technology limitations though, so perhaps those that find it easiest are “taking one for the team”.

Interesting to note that there are issues with the virtual parliament though, and a drive to get all MPs back to Westminster. As someone who has chaired lively meetings of a couple of dozen participants and also used teleconference and videoconference for similar numbers, I’m not surprised they’re struggling.

Like anything really, there are / will be pitfalls - but that should not result in complete meltdown and dummy spitting against anyone, but seen more as an opportunity for improvement.
I too have seen the downsides, but I have seen / have gained far more positives, especially work life balance. I used to hate travelling with work - here there and evrywhere, when in reality, all that was needed was a video conference..

I don't like the SNP, and what they stand for but can't disagree with what Blackford said today:

Westminster voting plans 'wholly wrong'
During the debate, Ian Blackford, leader of the Scottish National Party at Westminster, implored the House to remember its responsibility to ensure no one in the country was disenfranchised.
He said he believed Mr Jacob Rees-Mogg's plans "wholly wrong". Many SNP MPs, he said, would have to travel more than 30 hours a week to get safely from Scotland to Westminster, at a time when MPs had more casework than normal.
He argued that MPs moving to and from Westminster could spread the virus across the country, becoming "silent spreaders".

Super rich are coming up to their highland estates for holidays. Going into local shops etc.

Locals going more than 5 miles getting stopped and fined. Police and government have 100% lost my respect and can quite frankly go f**k themselves.

One rule for them and another for us.

He went home, as we were all told to do. You can't deny someone access to their immediate family and household for an indeterminate period of time, just because .

I can't believe I'm defending him, but you're being unreasonable if you expect what you've suggested.

Haven't heard of any local being fined - where has that been happening?
