passed one of these on the M74 motorway last night pulling a low loader with a pick up on the trailer not something you see very often did any one else spot it

It goes all round the country, I believe there are about 10 in the Uk in total.
They are self propelled wood chippers for biomass wood chipping on farm.
Also speaking to a driver of one they are not classed as an agricultural machine and as such are allowed to tow a vehicle on a trailer due to the fact they pay a higher road tax than the towed vehicle.

Looks like Wright’y from Welshpool to me spends a lot of time chipping in Scotland and will drive it all the way back to Welshpool .

Loads of miles but wouldn’t bother Gary had one of if not the first one in the country don’t quote but think they have three on the go now .Chip at a farm by us it’s an animal of a machine.

How much more than say a 939 or 1050 plus chipper and crane would one be? Personally I can never see the point of using such an expensive tractor on seriously expensive rubber on a chipper when 150hp could tow it around and a lump of an engine on the chipper could do the hard work!! Each to their own...
