Patchwork 500 being unresponsive

We have recently bought a second hand patchwork 500 gps system- but when we fire it up it just stays on the startup screen indefinitely ( globe with 3 arrows) and the progress bar varies from being full to not loading at all. Have been told it may be the operating system? Anyone else had issues with a patchwork system?

Phone up patchwork they are quite good at guiding you through problems and giving updates

Probably, but I doubt they would suggest an eBay item that would be as good as the original spare part but at a fraction of the cost.

All GPS antennas have a pre-amplifier and need supply voltage (phantom voltage) via the signal cable. I don't know if different products use a different voltage but I'm guessing all would work as long as the connector fits.

Antenna performance (mainly mechanical design, to some extent the noise figure of the pre-amp) may vary but I don't think one would notice it on an EGNOS screen.
