Patchwork advance ,making patches for mowing

Been using my patchwork advance today thistle cutting but when I start a new patch I line the tractor up with the AB line to a tree or post other end of field ,and then just when you are ready to move off the AB line moves either left or right 20 or 30 degrees,so in the end you just have to guess it.
I want to use it tomorrow mowing for silage ,don't want any short rows.

Out of interest how far are you driving to make your A-B line?.

I've used mine for years for everything from mowing to fert or sowing grass and had no problems like that?

as you move off to follow your a-b line it jumps about 20 -30 degrees left or right and when you are following it down the field, gps signal excellent all time, width is 3 meters, will see Patchwork next week at cereals.

Are you using a + degree or an line?
Is a + degree an option on patchwork as that sounds like whg you are using. Why don't you take patchwork up on their offer of phone support. Will be better to call them when Infront of screen rather than wait to cereals

maybe patchwork could be honest and explain the problems they are having, possible time frame for getting them up and running again, and consider withdrawing the products off the market until they get the problems sorted. what do u think MikeO?

I find mine hard to follow at 3m it's not bad at 6m but everything else it's at least 24m to take in a break also run the on screen smoothing at course as it's not as jumpy and easier to follow the line.

I'm kinda confused by your first post as the way it reads is that your using the black box to find the width to turn in but trying to pick a point in the distance to drive to?

What happens if you just look at the screen and follow the box even if it's trying to take you away at an angle?

If you are having issues with one of our systems please call the office on 01291 673366 and allow us to help you.

Call mike he was a great help to me. A b line moves on mine when tractor is moving. I usually aim for something at the end of the feild and just keep glancing at the screen youll fined you cant drive straight just looking at the screen. Ive got antenna on bonnet over front axle find its easier to stay on the line rather than on the roof.turning into a new line avoid sudden movement on the steering and maybe turn slower give everything time to line up on screen. It's just practice and time to get use to it

Try not to focus on the line to much as it moves as the antenna moves on uneven ground. The light bar is good to use. I can usually keep it 0.1 to 0.2 up n down field

Sounds like ours does. Set an AB line and it just drfts away all the time. I just follow screen and colour it in now. Cant use it for mowing to open field beds out as its way off.
Back to guess work n expensive colouring in screen..

I can't help with Patchwork,
I have a a basic Trimble 250, when mowing grass, I set the A-B line on the first time down the long side, then when making a break, rather than try and line up with one of the lines I choose where I want to go then move line to there on the screen. Its a handy way to get breaks to suit poles etc.
Won't do it unless you are facing pretty much the right direction though
I never worry about following the lights when mowing at say 3m. As long as the big picture is parallel, a narrow bout or two is no problem.

This is one is took out on Sunday about three hours after setting the A-B. Only took the pic as I was real pleased with my work.

Here's a couple of pics I took while putting fert on min till rape I took an A-B from one side of the field then spread back to it from the other side 11 tramlines away and it all fills in fine.
