I know a foundry which will cast them, they already do some ransomes shares to order. Problem is finding an unworn original for the pattern.
All being well, I will be trying these Westlake shares on Sat.

I was quoted £50.00 for a one off, but the price would be less for an order of 100. This was a few years ago now.I did know of an unused pair in Sussex, if they still exist I hope to borrow one soon.
I didnt manage to get finished, so still to try the westlake ones, all beeing well, that will be next Sunday.

Initially you wouldn't want to get any more than a pair cast if you're copying an unused one. When they were still available from kverneland it could be difficult to get a pair and it wasn't unusual to get a bad pair.

Boards were not much better! I know of some one who had over 30, before he found a (Nearly) matching pair. That was in the days when the customer mattered,he only had to pay for the two he accepted. Imagine the cost today, if you had to buy that many, which I expect would be a requirement.
Competition no longer being as Important as it was.

KV dealers here would've brought in maybe 20 shares at the time, the secret was to get there before anyone else and talk the parts man into letting you look through them all until you got as many pairs as you could find or afford.

Lead to land is ok at the point, but they are about a quarter of an inch proud of the board edge, but point is much further forward, as is the cutting edge of the share. To thick in mouldboard area, but thats a simple grinding job.If all goes well, I will be trying them out on Sat.
I fitted mine tonight, rear furrow fits nice, tiny bit proud the landslide side, front furrow is proud by just under 1/2 inch about half way starting at the landside end, simple grinder work to sort.

Change them over before getting the grinder out! May be a hidden plough problem! Both mine, though differing from the original, were identical. I have cut them back to the 12" dimension, and used them today, plough turned two identical furrows, with a clean furrow bottom. Some grinding is needed as there is a step down to the board, and that is giving rise to a "speed bump " of soil sticking there. Dont want that, takes all the shine off the work, not that there will be much of that this year!

Ok thanks, I’ll try that, I sorted the drooping front furrow by changing them around, I can’t believe someone ploughed with it like that.

I cant see how changing things around would cure that problem. Something must be distorted, and thats now showing up in the poor share fit. If you want to plough two identical furrows, then every part of the sculpting instruments(plough bodies) must also be identical. Remember, the disk and share do the cutting out of the furrow slice, the board merely positions it.

I think I’ve got at bent frog, tip of the new share to the beam on the front furrow is 15mm more than the rear !.
Are super hydrein frogs the same as standard hydrein frogs ?.

I fitted what was I believe a standard Hydrein frog, and it needed at least one bolt hole moved,I believe the rear lower board fixing, sorry I cant remember much except that it was almost impossible to drill! The pilot went through with some effort, but after that I resorted to a plasma cutter! Bolted the mouldboard up with a thick washer over the new hole, and welded it to the frog. One other thing, if welding to any KV plough metal, use a stainless rod, nothing else will make a decent job! (Dissimilar metal rods will of course, but they are mainly stainless anyway!)
Before ordering parts, I think you need to check all the soil engaging parts, and both legs. remove the legs and put them one on top of the other, they must be exactly the same, all being ok, bolt them back on the frame, then get some long straight edges,( 6 feet in length is good) and clamp to the bottom of the legs, they must be parallel. Next bolt on the frogs and clamp to them, again they must still be parallel, and also parallel to the plough beam straight sections.
Bits of hacksaw blades and sheet steel can be used to correct minor alignment problems, used as shims to "throw" the point in or out.
Edit, read your post again, and I think you have a bent leg, front usually cops it from rocks etc.

I have had a look at my plough and its the lower front hole which needs adjustment. I too have a match on Sunday, no idea as to what sort of muddle I will make, but it should be spectacular, judging by the practise field!
