The big hopper and screw mixers?
Crack on and order it.
The drivers tend to be employed rather than self employed so are more casual about a bit of waiting.

3"deep is up to you but no point skimping if it would benefit from more.
Going up to 4 or 5 cu would make the cost per cu less.
the machines are hunting for work midweek.

We have a local 'mix as it comes out of the lorry' firm. Very good. You always only pay for what you use, always enough and never any left. Perfect.
Why only 3 inches deep. Is it only walked on, no vehicles?
Probably pay £100 - 130 /m3 for that quantity.

No point skimping on the depth of the concrete or hardcore, it's cheaper in the long run to pay a bit more and do it properly.

4 inch min

they are good for small amounts but I’m not convinced the quality is as good as not as well mixed. That said next door had a company working from their yard so most of the yard has come from them

theyhave more reach and can get into tricky places easier. They can also do a few loads of different mixes if you need them

We have used them and by choice will always use them, the one drawback seems to be it seems to take the first half a cube or so to get the mix just right.Like was said before for some reason our local firm has 4 machines and seems to have 4 good drivers and the chute on the back is a lot more controllable
