AC is my initials, i did intend to change the business name years ago as the R is long gone but i ended up just sticking with the old name. My trading name and faceache link is at the bottom of all my posts just it only shows up on a Laptop or PC normally, plus there is a banner advert running here too.

If I get a cheque these days, I just post it to the bank with a paying in slip. Touch wood they’ve always appeared in he account a few days later.

Same here, the cheque has sometimes arrived in the post. Total ball ache.

It’s one way I done it in the past - 20 years ago with someone paying for a vehicle
Luckily it worked out in my favour

There's a legal limit beyond which you're not allowed to transact in cash - the money laundering regulations I think - so that wouldn't work for any meaningful amounts.

It's in every auction catalogue terms and conditions.

If it's a vast sum of money Buyer/Seller can use an Escrow account, but the fee's would be prohibitive under £500k I guess.

RBS is up to £1k from app for a new person, so would have to take laptop and card reader etc. for over that, or better still set up a new contact on the laptop the night before. No biggie, but something to be aware of.

For hsbc just ask your manager to alter the max bacs amount, this can be different for each person on a
joint account,. Often only the main user needs a high limit.
