PDF crashing

When I open a pdf in Adobe it stalls and doesn’t respond for perhaps 20 seconds and then opens. Likewise when closing it doesn’t respond for a while and then closes
Bloody frustrating. Any ideas anyone ?

Yes all you can do is try a different reader (or get the sender/maker to redo the offending PDF file).

Occasionally I get sent PDFs that refuse to play ball with a particular reader or completely stuff/crash the reader.

So I generally use either the inbuilt Mac/iOS Preview/Safari or switch to a separate Adobe reader and between them can then get on.

Adobe anything screws your computer up.
The programs are grossly overweight.
Remove it and use Sumatra pdf.
It's about 8 meg compared to Adobe reader 400 meg.

Which about sums up Adobe, major over kill...

I've used Foxit for ages now and 90% of the time it's fine, but just occasionally it prints random extra characters, and last week, it printed each character as a mirror image!!

In these instances, I use Edge and that works fine.

Adobe reader has got that bad in terms of size, load times started to become really bad.
So guess what adobe did to fix that?

Just made it run all the time in the background hidden.

Thus consuming resources, slowing the PC even though most of the time nobody uses it.
Nice job...
