Pea dessication

Having not grown peas before I was somewhat surprised to find how quickly they were going off this morning. The problem is the field has gravel seams so while some areas have papery pods at least half way up other areas the pods are still green/yellow.
The peas are prophet large blues and I understand that they could achieve premium provided they aren't left too long and stain.
Does this mean I need to even up the field with Reglone or Roundup pretty soon? And if so which one is best?

I believe PGRO suggest Reglone.

I'd also suggest Reglone and non ionic wetter, spray either early morning or late at night and plenty of water. You want them to go off quick and with Reglone you can set your clock by it. They'll be ready in 10 days. With the Roundup you can never be sure exactly how long it'll take and you run the risk, in this situation, of some bleaching whilst you're waiting for the others to go off.

Can you use non ionic wetter if going for human consumption?

Going today with Reglone. Earliest we have desiccated peas in 35 years of growing them. Some signs of bleaching even though not fully dry. Could well do without the midweek forecast.

Half ours want spraying half still making up! Haven't looked but hopefully this rain might be a bit early to cause problems? But to be honest they have been a pita from the start so I can't see the end being easy.

What problems have you had? First time I've grown them and apart from them suddenly going off fast in the last 10-14 days they've been trouble free.

Due to the dry spring . Half germinated then the other half germinated a month or so later , so now we have some nice pods going off and then another flush which are still green and filling.
Going to be hard to get them both as to early some will be mush and too late the forward ones will stain or bleach.
Quality is everything when marrowfats.

Sprayed mine off today, also had germination issues, gone with Roundup as the poorer patches are full of bindweed [emoji31]
