Once breading season is over ,the cock bird looses all those big display feathers ,,find them everyware but they dont go to waste ,,fishermen use them for floats if you know anybody that makes their own

Its bad enough when the cat jumps up and sits on the bonnet of your car. But Peacocks on the roof of a vehicle is a whole different matter if you value the vehicle ...... in my experience don't do it you will regret the damage, noise and sh1t

They will crap all over your newest tractor, not an old one
They stripped the paint off the bonnet of my new ford 7810 in the eighties
My sister got them , then got married and left us with the mess.

our kit is not new but that won’t go down wel!

Forgot to say ,,they will pull all your bedding plants out and other plants will get pecked to hell as they pluck the flowers of as they are sweet.
They roost on your ridge tiles dislogding them if they are loose ,,,By god can they fly

Also they will peck metalic and blue paint as they see a reflection in it and think its competition ,,Best place for peackocks is india sat outside the Rag,s palace

ok I’m Not getting many positives so far!

Our neighbour in the big house down the lane has a cock and two hens , (I think the hens are sitting just now) . We get a visit quite frequently and they seem to peck at the crushed potatoes from the telehandler wheels . Very occasionally I've had to remonstrate with them for perching on my car , and yes , they're a bit noisy sometimes . But all in all I quite like them about . I suppose they're like the couple of cock pheasants we also have , with their harems , OK whilst they're in controlled numbers but could be a pest if they multiplied .

can they be reasoned with? Plenty of weapons to choose from if the numbers get high. 2 sounds plenty.
Having had a trio many years ago I would say do it for the kids.
The most surprising thing about them is how high they fly to roost. Whatever the tallest thing around is, that is where they will be.

house is surrounded by chestnuts so they should be ok.

I think my commercial tenant may like them, they get two labs and 5 chickens visit them daily for food so what’s a few pretty birds with attitude to add to the repertoire!?

We had a a fair number living in the centre of the village a few years back, they were exceedingly devisive, people either loved them or hated them. The parish council was receiving equal numbers of letters insisting on their removal and preservation. We decided to sit on the fence and keep out of the it. One Cllr even had his mum and dad on separate sides of the argument.
I quite liked them about, a little bit of mess and the odd pecked plant was a small price to pay for the sight of mum and her chicks walking across the road.
They seemingly just disappeared, I guess the antis came up with a cunning plan.

Beautiful birds, but yes, very noisy.
They ARE polarising, you either love them or hate them . . .
I would love to have some around ( as well as some pheasants ) but my wife isn’t so keen - so we comprised & have some guinea fowl around the house instead

We have a few customers with them, a lad who worked for us had a shiny red moped and met us at the job, when we left he zoomed out on his moped while being chased by an angry peacock!

Old folks used to say they will keep the Gyppos away, by all accounts they are superstitious about the evil eye on the tail feathers.
Trouble is the genuine Romany Gyps were not much trouble, that is more the forte of the itinerant thieves, who probably like roast peacock.

The house over the road used to have some. They were just far enough away for their calling to be pleasant, but I imagine that if they are not yours and you are close to, the noise they make would be annoying.

They used to roost on the roof of the 2 storey house, so high up. They weren't a nuisance to us at all, but when a new housing estate was built they used to go and roost on top of the new houses, which didn't go down too well.

We have 7 cocks and 3 hens .
I don’t like them much they only make a noise at this time of year.
They attack our black car so much so when we will sell it, it will need a respray. The sit on the tractor a sh!t on if if it’s left outside .
They have woken me up this morning at 5.30 then one of the geese didn’t get locked up last night so it’s been shouting on for it’s mates and just to top it all the crow has been attacking the kitchen windows again
