Ash melting point seemingly. Boat load of pellet came in to NI 6/8 weeks ago, pure sh!te. Something wrong with pellets, ash melting point too low so boilers that had happily been running clinker free suddenly jamming with bits of clinker the size of your fist. Turning boilers down from 100% to 80% helped a wee bit.
I’ve slowed the pellet feed down a bit but it’s still doing it,wondering if it’s needing a clean out? Service is due next month,but may bring it forward

lots of clinker and not much heat, ours came in mid march from a large national distributer, we have spoken and they do seem to be aware of the problem but not yet resolved.
yes it is the ash fusion temperature but also too much sawdust in the mix also causes clinkers because the sawdust burns too fast so raising the flame temp, some types of boiler are more susceptible to this.
