Can any of you experts tell how many kg of wood pellets I would require annually to produce 42594kWh of heat with a 28kW boiler? TIA genuine reason for asking.

If the quote we have is correct and my decimal point is in the right place 10 tonnes because that's 42 mw I think and pellets burn supposedly at 4500kwh/tonne.

Average will be more like 4000kw ton
Less in summer
More in winter

These guys think they are getting 2250kwh per 550kg bale of wheat/osr straw. We see an average of 1700 at the moment but it does vary on the quality of the straw.

Is there heat difference kwh to put in as a whole bag as to blown in on demand or gravity feed type heater !

4200 tonne here. Boilers are either working hard or are off. Very little 'standby' time.
I have two 97kw per container instead of one 199. So during low demand i switch one off

Possibly I guess but ours is chopped the same and then augered instead of blown. The boiler here is a 995 but from the same manufacturer. Three sources of straw used so far and all are producing about the same output although very nice product that been through a rotary combine or shed stored for 12 months is more brittle so is better than the fresh material from a straw walker machine. Our combine is now set hard on the straw as it helps the process of getting it into the boiler. Spring wheat straw is the worst though.

yes sorry thats with good dust free pellets, bulk blown, the figure is a bit guestimate , due to inexact bin level stock takes but as the tonnage rises over years the figures get more accurate.

Have you worked out the figures on the value of your straw for the RHI vs grain from some field!?
