Unfortunately we’re all fighting a losing battle against these morons .

No, they talk amongst themselves and actively avoid 'problem farmers'.

I've seen screenshots from a 'closed' hare coursing Facebook group where they're discussing the 'hot' reception they've received from various farmers. As @Robt says they obviously get a kick out of being chased, but they choose to go for frequently hit areas which are seen as soft targets.
The only way to stop them is to group together with your near neighbours and coordinate your response; hare coursing messaging groups and 'phone trees', and neighbours with the balls to look out for each other in a robust way.
By 'robust' I don't mean physical aggression, just let the police know you'll be present in decent numbers until they respond , and gather good quality evidence of faces and registration plates with cameras; it moves the weight of intimidation from 'rural dwellers' back to the coursers, and they *really* don't like it.

In my opinion fire arms should be almost banned, talking to a lady today has a 3000 acre farm an no one in the family has a firearm. yet every little turd and his mate need a gun to "shoot" clays or rough shoot - simply no need once you taken a gun out to defend yourself with your already in and almost no win situation. I think every listed gun in the uk gun should be rounded up and scrapped or you pay a bond say £15,000 and if you are caught misusing your gun that's gone too.

Never seen coursers wearing bobble hats and Berghaus before. Challenging sterotypes etc etc

Any livestock owner who does not have the means to humanely destroy a sick animal in the absence of a vet should not be keeping livestock. Not all of us farm in suburbia.

And who is to decide when the gun owner is "misusing" his gun? Not plod I hope who are already using the gun laws to punish owners rather than have legal decisions made by the courts. And the thin veil between a democrasy and a police state is further eroded.

Sorry to read your posting.Similar situations seem nationwide. We have our PCC elections this year so will lobby the prospective PCC's to get them to action the above crimes, along with fly tipping.

You have missed the point in a massive way. Like anything in life. It’s not the legally held cars/firearms/bikes that cause trouble. Ban fire arms and you’ll simply push it underground. You show quite a lack of understanding in your post I’m my opinion
