Ahhh. Needs a good paint job too. thats A common enough engine I’d think a salvage yard would have one. Do you need all the workings too. A reman short engine would be a reasonable bet.

I’ve just bought it and havnt opened it up yet but I can get new crank and conrods etc cheap enough. I can get a new A4.236 short motor but I don’t know what the difference would be?

The T is turboed would likely have extra bracing inside for more stresses. Changing over every component from one to the other isn’t a task for most farmers. Would take a good grasp of the workings to be successful.

If you do find a block make sure the serial/casting numbers are right. I rebuild an 8.3 Cummins on my sprayer. Head was wrecked so went to get a new one and being 24 valve it was tough to find. Then one I found wasn’t compatible with the application, lucked out and found the motor was used primarily in marine applications and got one off the east coast of the states. Reman with warranty and lots of saved time Would be my route to take.

Just thought we have a 236 turbo in an old JCB 410, been in the nettles for 10+ years.
What is/was up with the machine? What kind of state is it all in?
We have a backup 410 using oil and won't start on cold mornings despite new battery.
Supposed to be pressure tested when our independent gets round to it.
