Is there any reason I cannot change some permanent grassland to arable Fallow this spring for BPS purposes (will go into WW in September).
Only needs screening if it's semi-natural or uncultivated for 15 years or more. Herbicides and artificial fertiliser are viewed as cultivation. If it’s down as p.pasture and not temporary grass youre supposed to ask if it needs screening......if no sssi close, no botanical or archaeological interest of any kind you should be ok ......but it can be a minefield!! ( speaking with lot of very unpleasant experiences)

It doesn't say you can't put pasture into EFA as long as you obey the rules for fallow.
The only caveat is that these are the 2018 BPS rules - you'll be governed by the 2019 rules which aren't available yet.
