Dear all respected Farmers

This may sound like a strange request, so let me introduce myself. My name
Is Nick wright and I have lived in burntwood all my life. I am 29 years old.

I feel that a letter beforehand, however, is a better emissary than just knocking on your door at an
inconvenient time and invading your privacy, you land and disturbing your livestock.

I have been engaged in the hobby of metal detecting for a number of years now and was metal detecting during the time Terry Herbert found the Anglo-Saxon hoard in staffordshire. I find the hobby enjoyable and with that allows me to meet many interesting people. The thrill of finding old coins, buttons, pieces from old mines, war relics and items from the past is quite interesting to me.

I would like to obtain permission to metal detect on some land you own. This would be only for a weekend and would include only myself during the day.

I am a member of the MDF metal detecting club for the west midlands and belong to the National Council for Metal Detecting which is fee driven. This also gives me public liability insurance if anything god forbid ever happened on your land.

I want you to understand that I always respect the property that I search and
try to leave it in the same condition that I found it. Normally the "targets" are no
deeper than four or five inches and I retrieve them such that the ground appears
not to be disturbed. Any trash found I will take away and dispose of.

In addition, I would like to offer my services to you. Perhaps you or someone you know has lost a piece of jewelry, keys, farm tool or other valued metal object. I would be glad to try and find it for you, just for the thrill of the search.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me anytime. My phone number and email address are listed below.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,

Nick wright
