Permission to Metal Detect

I would love the opportunity to come and detect any land you might have. I've been metal detecting for only a year but I've been Mudlarking (searching the Thames foreshore, with a licence) for about 3 years now. I use a metal detector held together by cable ties and often cycle to sites but it does the trick.
I understand there's a good chance I won't get a result asking on a forum but if you don't ask, you don't get, and I'm hoping this message will find a like-minded landowner.
I don't detect for financial gain but have a big interest in history and love the connection with the past through items found in the ground. Obviously I would still be happy to split anything found of financial value, as is standard, and anything you want to keep, it's yours. I'm just as happy with a bell or old bottle as I am with a silver coin. I also pick up any litter and take any useless scrap metal with me, and can let you know if I find something on your farm you might want to know about, such as a broken fence.

Preferable areas for me to look would be Hertfordshire (I live near Luton), Suffolk (I could stay with family) or Northamptonshire, where I hope to move within the year, although I'd be happy to get the train somewhere else if the offer is there.

Any advice on finding permission is also welcome. Generally I cycle around local farms and paddocks and say hello, I'm a friendly chap and sometimes I get lucky.

If you want to see any of my finds you can look here, only the sixpence has been found metal detecting.

Feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks!
