Father finally got out of hospital and spent the last two weeks of his life at home where he passed away a week ago. His mind remained sharp to the end but the brain tumour finally robbed him of the use of most of his muscles and eventually confined him to bed. He did get one last look round the yard in a wheelchair. It gave him pleasure to see all the familiar things and peole after weeks cooped up in hospital.
A bit of a sad time but also a blessed release from the suffering for him, even though he remained an optimist and never complained right to end.
The thing about farming is you don't have much time to feel sad or get too down about things as there is always a load of stuff to do, particularly at this time of year. So we are doing as he would want us to do. We are getting on with it.
No need for sympathy. Plenty of folk have to deal with stuff like this and much worse. Just thought I'd complete the story for the record and a thank you for the encouragement and thoughts along the way.
