Persistent eye problem with ewe

Hi All, have a Texel ewe with a persistent eye problem. Just went then Betamox seems to have cleared the cloudiness up, it arrives back say a month later. Been going on for a good while now and whilst it does clear up for a bit of time, it always seems to come back. Eye begins to cloud over and will continue to get cloudier. I don't want to keep injecting her but I also do not want to cull her if possible. Any ideas?

I had a ram like this. Cleared it up and in winter it flared up with the wind and summer the flies. Got fed up of treating it in the end and culled him. It wasn’t genetic, his oldest offspring are 2yr old now and eyes are fine. Vet reckoned he had scratched it and damaged the surface of the eye.

Is there something actually causing a repeat out break rather than a flair up,ie stuffing its face into something like a bale, had this earlier in the year with round bale haylage that had a hole in the wrap

Every livestock keeper should be obliged by law to buy two cans of Septicleanse. It is a fairly cheap and kind antiseptic spray that has a host of uses. Most Agricultural Merchants will stock it.
