Perspex glass protectors

Can anyone recommend a good company to supply perspex glass protectors?

Thinking I should fit one to the rear window after it exploded yesterday. Think it was one small stone too many and the whole thing went up like a small grenade going off! Luckily I wasn't looking back at the time.

TIA.

You need some bungie cord as well to hold them on and bigger suction cups would be better as well. Not perfected mine yet,but fabricated a mesh screen to go on the back window.
Why cant these tractor makers put some mounting brackets on the cabs to fix stuff like this on are you listening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinking along the same lines....

Would these do? What sheet thickness did you go for?

I went for 3mm, so just hoping it'll do the job,

Have been thinking and looking for a while about the suction cups, would caravan awning suckers work?

These?

Alternatively was thinking of suction cups like you have in your link, or making brackets similar to what was used for mesh guards.

My plastic sheet came from a supplier in NI due to my location, so just look locally, go for polycarbonate and not Perspex as Perspex isn't flexible and still shatters.

OK 3mm polycarbonate seems the way to go. It should weigh just over 4kg for a piece to cover the rear window.

Could go to the next size suction cup up. Thinking three suckers across the top and bottom and two or three down the sides. It's roughly 1200mm across and 900mm high.

Lad up the north was making them, but I can't find his advert.
Think he was using loads of small suction cups and what looked like quite light sheet.
But if I could find the advert, it would be better ........

Used lexan sheeting when I needed some for hedge cutting tractor. Bought a sheet off eBay and cut out to shape with a jigsaw, then put some black edging trim around edges, and cup suckers to hold in place.

It's for hedgecutting I'm making the guards for,
Plan on doing the same as you and cutting it with the jigsaw and putting on edging trim.
What suction cups did you use? Have you any pictures?

I bought from tractor guard a full set three years ago after making my own a few times and having the sheeting crack ,around the holes for the suction cups ,and from the edges as well.whatever tractor guard use it's certainly very much better than my couple of attempts with different materials and thicknesses, wish I'd bought these straight away tbh.seemed a lot of money but no broken windows after three seasons and still going strong makes them seem cheap now.

Do you not get crap and dust between the two glasses making it even harder to see?

It can make it a bit harder to see but i stick the washer behind regularly and remove every week or so.each door is four hundred, rear quarter lights not sure but not cheap, rear window about 150 and was doing a bit of glass or two every year at least, not to mention having cab electronics full of crap after carrying on work or downtime if you stopped,so all in all I'm very happy to use them, won't go mowing without them tbh.

I've used polycarbonate before for several job and no matter how hard you hit it I've never had any crack yet, in fact can nearly fold it in half and it'll flex back without cracking which is why I bought polycarbonate over Perspex.
