Pesticide wastage problems

Hey everyone,

I am doing research on arable farming and would like to know about the issues farmers have with deploying chemical pesticide.

If any one could just provide some insight on how they deploy chemical pesticide/herbicide on their crop land to prevent crops from being destroyed. What sort of problems do you face? are there any pesticide waste? do you use too much? too less?

Thank you, I appreciate all the help.

What about the machinery used in deploying pesticide or other chemicals. How is the machinery for deploying these chemicals fared? what are the costs associated and how long does it take for these machines to cover a certain area, say 1 Hectare of land? (i understand the answer is dependent on the crop)

You're questions are a little vague. Rates per ha are dictated by forward speed and width of machine. From your post it sounds like you may not realise this ( not wishing to offend).
So for instance I spray at 12k/h with a 24m boom. Others my be faster or slower depending on conditions, preference and chemical application requirements. And boom width varie from 12m to 36m.
