Yeah I run a Honda and Countax on E10 as well, plus all my chainsaws!I'm running a Honda lawn mower on E10, not the same engine of course, but 20 years old and running fine.
I've a GX390 on a shredder but not used it since E10 came on the scene.
Several additives available now. Stick to ones that have a track record in America like lucas oil
I think most problems seem to be from leaving the machine parked up with fuel sat in it.Just run it on E10, it’s unlikely to impact your life in any meaningful way, and truth be told the E5 sticker will be Honda trying to move people towards using ethanol use, to improve their corporate impact on the environment.
And if you want proof that Honda engines run fine on normal E10 pump fuel, the entirety of the British 24Hour kart race at Teesside on the 6th/7th August is being live-streamed on YouTube, with 95 twin GX200 engined karts covering around 1,650 miles each, at an average of 70mph.
A friend fitted a new lift pump to his Land Rover it’s only had e10 in the tank since and the lift pump valves are shot, all in a fairly short time so both of us will use e5 or an additive. It’s not worth the hassle for the slight saving.I just purchased a Petrol Belle hydraulic power pack... stuck to the tank was a note saying only use E5 super unleaded!
Does anyone else run a Honda GX340 four stroke engine on anything, such as lawn/flail mowers?
Can I have some advice and feedback please..
Yes and no. Hondas suffer from sludge and varnish in the float bowl when left with fuel for long periods, hence the drain bolt. Anything made in the last 15-20 years won’t suffer from melting pipes or any other urban mythsI think most problems seem to be from leaving the machine parked up with fuel sat in it.
Just buy premium E5 petrol and be done with it. It's hardly that more expensive.
And it's not like there's NO ethanol, just less of it15p a litre more now!
