I used to be able to put photos on TFF with my phone . I now can't do it , as soon as I press to upload them it says 'the upload image is too big' What can I do to sort this out . It never used to happen .

No . I was out ploughing couple of days ago and took a photo and it wouldn't work .
Tried again this morning with a cowcand calf and same thing happened .
Trouble is I'm not very 'tech' minded .
I don't think mine is an iPhone .

I take a photo ,then go onto site ,press upload photo, then into gallery, press on which photo I want to show ,then it goes through the % of loading then at about 98% it says upload image is too big . I'm wondering if I can reduce it somehow on my phone ...but I don't really know what I'm doing. !

Samsung Galaxy A71

If you are running the the full 64MP size then I think they will be massive files and above our limit. My guess is your phone has done an update and maybe added live photos and this has made the files too big.

Are there options on the photo you can take - sorry I'm not a Samsung person.

I get the same problem occasionally. I get round it by screenshoting the photo on my phone and then uploading the screenshot. The screenshot is a smaller file size than the original. It's a bit of a faff tbh though.

As soon as the photo is uploaded, TFF then reduces the size to sensible internet proportions which I think is 1920 x1200. But phone cameras are getting better and better. 8 years ago the same limit was 2MB - its now 16mb.
