Phone to hard drive

Is it posible to save photos from my samsung phone straight to a hard drive?
What sort of hard drive?

If the drive has a USB port (or even use a USB memory stick) then you can get an “OTG” type (on the go) USB adapter for the phone and simply plug the drive into that and then into the phone. Like this...

Alternatively if you have a bare/naked 2.5” laptop drive you can also get SATA to USB adapters that could then be connected up in the manner above...

I used to just use a USB cable to connect the phone to a computer, and then search the phone folders in Windows Explorer. Now because of antivirus software I can't do this. Instead I have the OneDrive app on my phone, and upload all pics to that, and then access OneDrive on my computer.
