There must be some clever ideas out there for keeping tools etc tidy in the tub ? Those side swing out boxes seem expensive at over £100, I'm currently using Crystalyx tubs (free), which never arrive in the same place as they were when I set off. :scratchhead:

Tubs work fine if you put 2 strips of conveyor belt in also, just slide out whichever belt has the tub you want on it, works similar to those expensive drawers only better as nothing slides about on the rubber. 👍

I spent a fortune (to me!) on my truck. Have a ‘Decked’ drawer system which doubles as a false floor. Consists of two drawers. And then a genset Honda engine welder mounted on top. A divider half way along the false floor and tool bags full of various things kept up the bulkhead end. Side opening gullwing canopy is a god send wouldn’t ever go back to only having a rear door.

Sorry.

i currently have transit crew van but keep looking at ex power network pickups and wonder how practical they would be to work out of, be better for towing and not getting stuck than the transit

I did speak to pick up systems and price a new one:oops:

Big issue is you can't get anything big in the back 4 ft is about the max length.
I've a roof rack which helps

yeah thats what i keep thinking, transit crewvan manages about 7ft corner to corner or its in the trailer. used to love my old lwb transit 190. but that was before family. crewvan seems like i'm constantly cleaning it out/tidy up to find stuff or fit stuff in.

Northern power grid ones that I saw, were awesome, night heater, inverters and all the toys and that's before you got to storage

Pickups are the work of the devil.
Sold the 3.2 Ranger for a new Renault Traffic swb van with 145hp: 39mpg and drives better than many cars. Only drawbacks are 2t towing limit, poor traction in fresh snow and the ‘scour under the nose’ looks when you park next to someone’s Disco / Defunder that cost them 3 x as much, to impress people they don’t like.
Racked it out with Bott shelves and home made 20mm box frame, saving about £1500. Takes 8x4 sheets with ease.
Still occasionally drive sons L200, which feels like a 7.5 tonner in comparison, yeuch.

Mineral tubs stay in place if you put a some stable matting on the load bed floor.
