Got pick up tines to re new on three machines and I'm expecting the bolts that hold the bands on to be tight. Is the best way to give them some heat with gas to make them give?
Clout the bolts square on with a decent drift and hammerGot pick up tines to re new on three machines and I'm expecting the bolts that hold the bands on to be tight. Is the best way to give them some heat with gas to make them give?
No it doesnt evaporate like oils and gets in the thread, sounds odd but does workWhat's the candle wax for, atmosphere?
On the mrsMust try that, thanks .........
ThisUse an impact socket instead of the standard, better contact area & less chance of rounding the heads.
+1 for the stainless steel bolts. We do the same on our Harvester pickup.funny, ive just been ordering M8x16 flanged head bolts in stainless to combat this problem, its normally not the fault of the screw, its the rusting of the 10mm's of open thread behind the band that's the cause of the problem or in my world at least.
when i was doing the reel of my baler the bottom ones was the worse and i believe this is where the water and most wet grass will lie. Ifound heating them up with gas or weld a bigger nut onto the bolt made it alot easier to take out as it heated it.No help, but on my square baler the bolts that hold bands in keep breaking heads off them when i try to remove them. Its always bottom ones that snap too.
