Just to get thing moving two pics from last week first day out to grass after a long winter

Do you breed all the cattle pure?

Most cattle are not crossed with an other breed. the buyers like the pure breed better. We are ok in that we are not depending on the buyers coming to the yard to buy then as we use a market the same as in the UK to sale our animals. and if you have a good animal they will sell very well. I find the limmy Charolais cross a lot better animal some of the best calves have been crosses

We are staying on the southern side of the Loire valley at Clere du Bois. Travelling around the area over the last few days, there are some superb looking crops of OSR and wheat, but also plenty of patchy and apparently re-sown areas as well. The maize drilling is going on fast, but there still seems to be large areas which look as if they have not been cropped last year or this, is fallow a feature of arable farming in this region or is there another explanation? I would be interested to know?

You guys certainly have some superb livestock, lovely pics and very interesting.
