The story about the French Air Base visit

Back in 2017 about this time of the year. Cutting hay for Michael. Stopped to change a blade on the mower. Heard jet coming over head. But very low. Used to army transports and fighter jets doing their top gun training. Not to unusual to see 2 fighter jets chasing each other head for a few minutes.

But when I looked seen a large 4 engine jet liner. Then seen the radar dome on the top. So that night when I got home did a google search about the AWACS to discover that some of the French based Jets were working of Avord airbase just out side Bourges so only about 60km away.

Found a facebook page for the airbase and stared to follow the page. So last March they put up a note for people to apply for tickets to go to the 90th anniversary of the airbase and 30 years of the AWACS been based there. Sent off a message and got a reply back how many tickets did I need.
