Pig Ear tags and abattoirs

Hoping someone can help, have got pigs going to the abattoir in the morning that were bought in as Weaners and have the birth holdings tags in. Am trying to set up a move on eaml2 and can’t seem to change the herd mark on the movement from my own to the one that’s on the tag. Is it possible or do I have to change the tags to my own (which I haven’t got enough to do them)
Tearing hair out and shouting at the computer. Thanks in advance

You should use your own tags as they are your pigs now. Use your herd no on the form and you should be OK as far as the paperwork is concerned. I don't know how fussy the abattoir will be but if you at least have some tags I'd do them. I've heard that tags can unfortunately come out in transport occasionally.

Was thinking that but don’t know if abattoir will be funny about it. Might print the movement off when the pigs came on the farm

Sounds sensible. Book them in as your herd mark to satisfy eaml2 and take the original on movement print out as proof if needed. Should all be fine. Maybe get a slap marker or extra tags in stock to avoid the problem in future?

Yes will order some more tags tomorrow. Have been trying to change herdmark for an hour now but computer says no! think swapping the tags would be far less stressful.
