Planning on buying a floor standing pillar drill whats your views, want a robust drill with the least robust price tag . Have had a Sealy in the past, did the job but wasnt the most accurate.

Can't go far wrong with Fobco. Bit pricey, but you'll never buy again. Very well made.
Again depends on requirements? If only needed for the DIY'er or hobbyist, then this would be overkill

As has been previously suggested, the better value is in the older "branded" kit. Gear driven and not belt is a must if you're wanting to go above 1/2" dia. Morse taper essential and power feed is most definitely desirable to say the least.

Look on ebay and facebook market place, it's surprising what turns up there.

On the subject of using Mag drills as bench drills, you can get an adapter that will allow you to run the cutters in the pillar drill- something of a game changer when getting to the larger holes.
