Pimp my system

Having tried inter row hoeing last year to reduce blackgrass iin claydon drilled cereals I am considering my options in light of Claydons terrablade.Last year I removed the folowing harrow and paddles from my 4.8m hybrid drill and operated it using a shift of AB line on RTK signal with 7inch A hoes between the rows. This drilling season I fitted a fert kit on the drill using a second accord spider and meetering system to apply 100kg/ha of TSP into the seeded bands(Pity we cant use DAP!!) That got me thinking if I build a specific hoe rear mounted and working on a RTK guided tractor should i incorporate a method of applying urea onto the cropped rows. Two jobs at once,? targeted application?, enviromental impact?,reduced fert rates? OR waste of time and effort? I would value your opinions

how about spoked wheels and cultan if you are going to do that ? super cheap AS then and much lower rates of N to achieve the same yield

I would love to do it but its not practical for me unfortunately

what happened to @Knockie ? hes the man to talk to about this ?

Was it effective at reducing blackgrass? Did it need doing more than once?

Sounds like a good idea, but how about adding a spray tank to target blackgrass growing withinin the crop band.
maybe use it for other pesticides as well. I'm guessing in most situations you could halve the chemical bill !!

Yes very effective at uprooting blackgrass and killing it after failure of Atlantis to offer any control and limited effect from residuals. One well timed pass is probably sufficient. As for band spraying on the rows what would you use when their effect is so limited
