Pivot steer decisions

Currently running a jcb tm310s. Cracking bit of kit just at worn out after thounds of hours of work.

Been looking to swap and automacticly thought jcb.... however.... we have borrowed our neighbours new jcb telehandler due to breakdowns and its a pile of poo in all honesty.

Waa wondering whos running the new jcb pivot steers and whst you think to them over rival machins

Thanks

Got a 2005 TM300 here with 10000hrs here that's been no bother, having similar quandary. TM320 looks over priced, over complicated, over done safety features, don't like the joystick much, or the hump in the floor. Hmmm..

It's a pity that jcb don't abandon the swivel knuckle arrangement in there pivot steers and go back to a pivot rear axle.
Apart from some wear issues,I don't like it from a driving point of view, with regard to stability and feedback for loading and stacking in uneven ground conditions.

Is a rigid machine an option? We have never had anything other than pivots until 2013 bought a 4ws because jcb won't reach as far as matbro now would never go back

Demo Schaffer/ weidemann / nc/ fannypoo etc. Even if none of them tickle your pickle, they'll sharpen the jcb mans pencil a bit! ;)
On my 2nd Schaffer here. Very pleased with them. Solid build, robust, well laid out cab, super reliable, plenty grunt and no safety lockout witchcraft :)

We had one on demo and didnt like it built well but poor visabilaty, ruff ride and nothing was tp hand in the cab

Yes they are but more stable and a lot more nimble and lower if you have any low sheds and far more reach so we had to compromise the visibility
We borrowed a telehandler while our 310 was getting fixed i almost ran the ild man over because i couldnt see him till the last minute. Think id be willing to compromise of visablity now? Lol. I wouldnt say there more stable ether really but then again its what your used to i guess

Yes if your a gate operator a 4 ws keeps you on your toes because they can change direction so quick a pivot is more predictable where it's going. I drive a 4ws and a pivot near enough everyday and there are good and bad about both

Was about to start a thread on this but I'll jump in here.
Need a spare loader and been looking at telehandlers. TBH though I really fancy a pivot steer. Just wonder why there isn't more about? Much prefer a central boom.
Is it just the visibility that puts people off? I've always thought a telehandler was poor visibility to the right but don't drive one much.
Whats the choice on pivot steer then bearing in mind it won't be new? Need to lift a tonne or so 4mtrs high.

Newer model 4ws machines have far better visibility than they used to, we have a 536-60 and a 320s and I find the 320 quite clumsy compared to the 536 but only drive the 320 every now n then as it's at other farm, both have good n bad points

Does it have to pivot?

Consider a Kramer, something like a 580t?
