Planet Spring barley fungicide

Have used 0.5l/ha Jaunt (Fluoxastrobin(75g/l) Prothioconazole(150g/l)
Trifloxystrobin(75g/l)) the last couple of years with good results( have both been very dry springs with low levels of disease). With the loss of CTL what are people using this year?

Did you used to add CTL to the jaunt? How about stick with jaunt?

Is Ramularia that much of a problem In Suffolk, if it is replace one of the Jaunts with Revystar ??
If the weather stays like this, a pass of Fandango might be enough

Even with CTL I don’t think you ever got really good control of it. I use zephyr at 0.5 l/ha. I don’t think it was conclusive that revystar was really good on ramularia. The only way I can see is breeding some resistance to it.

My agronomist suggested adding flopit to the jaunt for ramularia....
Not convinced and if I did T2 would be the time wouldn’t it? Or am I wrong?

If you are trying to control ramularia I guess it follows the ctl theory. Wasn’t the timing supposed to be a little earlier for t2 with ctl when trying to control ramularia. I guess flag and awns often come out together.

Serviced? That's what my old agrovista chap would have suggested for T1 and T2. Tbh results were good. Bill was bloody awful though.

Never thought that 2x jaunt was at all excessive tbh but perhaps I’m guilty of not checking out all the options thoroughly. Agrovista yes.

There is a big thing about using folpet for anti resistance but I don’t think it brings a lot for disease control. I’ve used 2 x zephyr before so don’t think there is anything wrong with your jaunt, serviced or not.

No chance. Just jaunt plus 2lt cheap CCC plus 0.1generic moddus plus Mn plus bittersalz. Happy with that. I will save/send back the flopit. T1 ww cheap enough too.

So long as it is done timely you won't go far wrong with barley disease programmes, strobiliurins do a bang up job on barley. Wouldn't reach for the SDHI automatically unless there was a deal being done on something. I used Zephyr a lot, had very good/excellent results, jaunt seems to be very similar. Can also use zephyr on wheat which is handy on small areas if product needs to be used up etc.

Thinking the same on the Folpet. Doesn't seem to bring alot to the party. A proline/strob/folpet mix is almost same money as a suitable sdhi/prothio/strob mix

Don't see the point of folpet on barley.

x2 jaunt would be fine. Just don't cut rate or miss timings. There is no point or need to spend big on spring barley. The weather will determine your yield and the stuff is a weed.
