Can vegan plants be fed animal manure?
Nope, they use seaweed fertiliser, good stuff but expensive.
Can vegan plants be fed animal manure?
My wife is a very strict vegetarian. Other than a bit of milk in her tea she’d probably be classed as Vegan but she’s unlikely to eat fake meat which is really what this is all about. Is there any vegan farmers on here ?
Just out of interest
And no I'm not vegan, I do eat a bit like a rabbit though
I don't know but I don't think many vegans eat fake meat , they live of beans lentils and salads I expect, veggie burgers !My wife is a very strict vegetarian. I can’t get over the idea of not wanting harm animals but being quite happy to eat something that’s supposed to taste like them. It’s all a bit hysterical.I don't know but I don't think many vegans eat fake meat , they live of beans lentils and salads I expect, veggie burgers !
A lot of places offer vegan options now ,can't say I've ever seen fake meat on the menuI can’t get over the idea of not wanting harm animals but being quite happy to eat something that’s supposed to taste like them. It’s all a bit hysterical.
Depends where you go. Places like Starbucks and Costa offer Vegan Ham and Cheese toasties and the like. A cucumber sandwich could be a vegan option if there's no butter and no one would make a fuss about it.A lot of places offer vegan options now ,can't say I've ever seen fake meat on the menu
Exactly, a lot of my diet is vegan.Depends where you go. Places like Starbucks and Costa offer Vegan Ham and Cheese toasties and the like. A cucumber sandwich could be a vegan option if there's no butter and no one would make a fuss about it.
obviously sales of vegan sandwiches are so low they get left with unsaleable stock
if they make a constant loss and there is no loss leader attraction they stop stocking them
simple really
i educated mine to look for bargainsThis. I am a regular at the clearance shelves in my local Morrisons and Co-op. So much so my children when younger and going through that 'whatever the label says must be followed' phase were convinced I was trying to kill them with out of date food.
My dad often has often told the tale of a canning factory he used to deliver into & what quite a lot of the workforce would be eating out of the damaged tins...The wife of one of our workers used to work at a local cannery. In the off season they would can both dog food and Irish stew. One of the perks of working there was to be able buy or be given boxes of damaged or unlabelled goods which they then sold around the village. The problem was often they forgot what was in the tins and it was as likely to be Chappy dog food as carrots or Irish stew. My mother would often buy a case of tins of Irish stew to be fed to us as a 1970’s ready meal if she was away doing milk recording. On many occasions my Dad would open several tins of dog food before he got to the stew. It was always a worry that thete’d be no Irish stew just dog food but there was no childline in those days so we had no one to complain to.
We used to feed our pigs the mixed veg medley on which they did very well apparently. My dad often has often told the tale of a canning factory he used to deliver into & what quite a lot of the workforce would be eating out of the damaged tins...
I always wonder why anyone buys sandwiches and doesn't make their own at home, is it that difficult to butter a couple of slices of bread and stick some cheese and pickle in it? Especially if it saves £2" plant-based options are the most expensive sandwich types, making the most sustainable option less accessible"

They have absolutely no idea which filling is the most sustainable but packaging it in plastic and having short use by dates probably makes them all pretty unsustainable.
Travelling from LA to a raspberry field day in the Salinas Valley we stopped at a service station with a Macdonalds. Our export partner is a hindu and a diabetic so needed something to eat so we got him a quarter pounder with cheese but ‘hold the quarter pounder’ which they were happy to do.I was in a McDonald’s on Friday and a family walked in and all had vegetarian meals To top it off the “dad” had short shorts on, knee high bright white socks and bright white trainers on.
I was told years ago going to McDonald’s for a veggie meal is like going to a brothel for a hug
