Plantar fasciitis wellies

Hi I’ve been suffering with plantar fasciitis for about 12 months and have been told not to wear wellies. As a dairy farmer this is impossible. Anyone got any suggestions which brand of wellies is best for this condition. Thanks in advance.

Freeze a cola bottle and roll your foot on it, that helps with plantar.

Try gel heels, or arch supports. I can't do my job without wellies either. I don't think it really matters what brand you work with.

These Dunlop thermo wellies are good, they're a bit pricey but my feet like them.

You can get a "sock"to wear at night. Its f**king uncomfortable but combined with rolling on an ice roller and stretching my calfs every day its mostly ok now

Have you seen a good podiatrist to have a set of orthotics made? I had a set made to ease knee pain, but I'm told they can help plantar fasciitis too.

As above, look for insoles made to help with the problem. There are many makes of wellies, not all have a fully rigid sole.

Every morning roll your stocking sole over a golf ball. Hurts big time to begin with but cures the problem in short time. As above get proper support insoles.

I don't have planar fasciitis but I do have dropped arches, happened about 4 years ago and was really affecting me. Referred to NHS orthotics and I have made to measure insoles in my boots - very comfortable. Allowed one free pair about every 18 months. This may vary between regions. I tend to keep the old pair and use them in another pair of boots. (At present I am switching between dealer boots and wellies depending on the job and ground conditions).

If I go a couple of days without wearing them then I really notice it (in a bad way). I also find I can hardly walk for the first 5 minutes every morning - I assume everything has relaxed at night so I am completely flat footed until i put my boots on again.

Good insoles custom made will make a huge difference. I had it and it is agony. If I stop wearing insoles and switch to sandals it comes back. My insoles are in my walking shoes and I wear dunlop safety lined safety wellies for outside.

Any links to good insoles? Everytime I wear my coastguard boots I get a very painful left heel. Right is fine and only these boots that cause a problem. I will get out of bed in the morning and it’s very painful . Can’t change boots as we are only allowed to wear them and not our own

I was advised by my GP about 18-20 years ago that my "bad back" was almost certainly caused by wearing wellies 12 hrs a day. He suggested insoles would help, and to experiment a bit, but firm arch support was important and also to adjust my bad posture.

I have now been using Dr Foot 3/4 length insoles ever since, each pair lasting through 2 pairs of cheap wellies from Wynnstay. I am of the view that some pukka custom insoles would be of benefit now.

For work boots, I wear walking boots as they offer the best support I could find. and they last about 12-18month I find

Thanks I’ll get a pair and try, that’s the problem I’m in wellies all day every day I’ve tried expensive ones to cheap ones and nothing seams to make a difference

I would go to doctor and get referred to a podiatrist and try and get them in the NHS. Mine were embarrassingly expensive but at the time I could barely walk and would have tried anything. Mine are silicon I think and were custom made.

I was the same but spent £500 I think so NHS cheaper option

when I broke my big toe the doc advised I got the biggest strongest boots I could find and carry on as normal. Got a pair with padded soles with metal insert, steel toecaps and padded ankle cuffs. Work involved feeding and scraping in slurry every day, those boots kept me warm, dry and comfy all winter. Sorry after that I can’t remember their name(might have been bucklers)but I wouldn’t be worried about wearing boots instead of wellies.

Muck boot wellies are good , with built in gel insoles,, I got insoles made by making a plaster cast of your foot , then making insoles to correct your foot,, 250 pounds ,,but well worth it ,, can put them in any wellie or boot , couldn't do with out them,

Thanks I have had some temporary insoles made, can’t believe the difference got to try these for a few weeks before they make permanent ones

Hi, l was on here a few months ago with same problems, l can say after nine months l am 90% ok, been to docs, been to physio, no joy, main help has been, 1, rolling my foot with sock on, on a frozen bottle, 2, wearing Sketchers for comfort.
